Contemporary Acoma Pueblo ceramicist Sandra Victorino is the niece of noted potter Dorothy Torivio. Under the tutelage of both her mother and her aunt, Sandra has learned to create award-winning vessels using traditional Acoma materials and techniques. As exemplified in this jar, Sandra has developed her own unique style of "op-art", where the patterns start small, then get larger and then smaller again on the vessel. The jar is intricately painted and there is a beautiful sense of balance between the form and design.
