Wide Floral Beadwork Cuff with Fordite by Teri Greeves
Stunning, wide beaded cuff by award-winning Kiowa artist Teri Greeves has a floral design inspired by traditional native Great Lakes Beadwork on a background of sterling silver beads and features a central Fordite cabochon. Fordite, also called Detroit Agate, was formed incidentally, years ago, by the now extinct practice of hand spray-painting cars in automotive factories. The built up layers of enamel were baked repeatedly and eventually chipped from the tracks and skids on which the cars were painted. Greeves incorporates this unique material into her bead design as an overall ode to American culture and especially the Michigan area.
Cuff has a flexible sterling silver wire construction with soft suede lining.
6" around inside, gap can be adjusted by wearer. 1 7/8" wide.
