Ken LeDonne

Creating shapes is a spiritual exercise for Ken LeDonne, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native.  In all of his works, relationships are critical; be it shapes, objects or people.  LeDonne creates with a mixture of mediums – hardwoods, veneers, composites and coloration.

Born in 1951, LeDonne has been creating most of his life. LeDonne’s formal training is in ceramics with a focus on vessels, MFA 1976 – Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Ceramic vessels transitioned to wood 25 years ago.  The wood vessels transitioned to custom wood and composite boats.

On their most basic level, LeDonne’s pieces are about figure – ground.
