This piece has a top inlaid with stone and is an example of a Navajo/Zuni collaboration with true inlay , in which cutout designs contain colored stones that were carefully cut and fit to create the desired image. The white third-prize ribbon at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial in 1957 was given to Sam Begay, a Navajo silversmith, and Bernard Homer, a Zuni lapidary, for this box with geometric inlay.
